CYCLONE RELIEF CONCERT

Music fans will be able to secure their chance to see the biggest line-up of Aussie rock/pop stars to hit the North as part of the signature Queensland community fundraiser for Cyclone Yasi victims on Saturday 9 April.

Organisers - the Combined Rotary Clubs of Townsville - have secured Australian legend Jimmy Barnes, ARIA award-winning Shannon Noll, popular Ricki-Lee Coulter, Australian Idol winner Stan Walker and ARIA Hall of Famers Dragon to perform at Tony Ireland Stadium.

Organising committee member Jeff Jimmieson urged people to get in early for their tickets and lock the date in their calendars.

"With such a big name line-up we are expecting tickets to sell fast and there are only a limited number of grandstand seats available," Mr Jimmieson said.

"These artists have such a broad appeal to different age groups from young families to those who grew up listening to Jimmy Barnes.

"Not only will North Queenslanders get to see a fantastic line-up but all concert proceeds go directly to those affected by Cyclone Yasi."

Grandstand tickets are $100 per seat while adult general admission is $75 for adults and $10 for children aged 5-12. Children under five are free.

Rotary District Governor Allan Church said: "This concert is about raising funds to help our mates further north rebuild their lives and their communities.

"With this talented line-up led by Aussie rocker Jimmy Barnes we are expecting the tickets to sell quickly.

"It is going to be great night of entertainment for the whole family."
