JIMMY BARNES TO HEADLINE TOP END BREAKOUT SHOW

No Comments News

The heart and soul of Australian rock n’ roll, Jimmy Barnes, will return to the Northern Territory on Saturday 26th September to perform his dynamic show at The Darwin Ski Club. Barnes has sold more records in Australia than any other local rock & roll artist and is best known for his stellar live performances.

Barnes joined Cold Chisel in 1973 and his vocal flair led the band to become the most powerful live act in the era of Aussie pub rock. Claiming an astronomical twelve #1 solo albums and five #1 albums with Cold Chisel, Barnes remains top of the game with a combined total of seventeen #1 albums – more than any other Australian artist. Rock legend turned master storyteller, Barnes has expanded his artistic direction and published two biographies with a third book of short stories, Killing Time, to be released on 7th October. His return to the Northern Territory will be whole-heartedly welcomed as he ignites the stage at The Darwin Ski Club on Saturday 26th September.

“It’s been over 6 months since we finished the Cold Chisel tour and I went on what I thought would be a short holiday. Well, thanks to Covid that holiday has become the longest one ever and I’m chomping at the bit to play live again. We can’t wait to hit the sun in Darwin at the end of the month and play some rock ‘n roll!” – Jimmy Barnes 28.08.20

Joining Barnes on his Top End Break Out Tour, one of the first music festivals in Australia since lockdown, will be the incredibly talented all-star Settle Down Sisters; a collective of musicians whose music will flow through a combination of solo performances and collaborations. The Settle Down Sisters are:
Caiti Baker, a natural born talent with the ability to flow effortlessly between genres; R&B, hip-hop, pop, blues, country, you name it and Baker will nail it.

Serina Pech, Katherine’s sweetheart – an incredible singer songwriter, Pech raps with an edge of eccentricity. Stevie Jean, one of ‘triple J Unearthed’s most played artists in 2019, the fiery Jean has earned her acclaim on festival stages around the country with her captivating stage presence.
Phoebe Wear whose butter-toned vocals and silk harmonies leave audiences weak at the knees. RachelRachel, a brilliant singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for fast flowing catchy melodies. Emily Rose, a DJ with the beats and attitude to encapsulate all the great vibes of the Settle Down Sisters.

The sheer talent these phenomenal musicians wield both individually and in harmony will deliver a powerful performance that is sure to leave the audience awe-struck.
